“You don’t have to be someone special to do something special for someone,” said David Denovchek, a kind individual who donated a part of his liver to young Jamie, a foster child.
When he heard her life was in danger, David didn’t just hope she would be saved, but he acted. And now he is at home recovering from the life-saving event. Although it was painful – having someone probe around and take a bit of your body – it is a procedure that David will always be grateful to have participated in.
He hopes his actions, and the publicity surrounding them, will be the impetus for other such acts by others. David has not yet met Jamie, but hopes that once she is feeling better he will have that opportunity!
