Watch this sneak peek into TLC’s upcoming Long Lost Family. The show premieres Sunday, March 6, 2016 and highlights a handful of adult adoptees who have been longing to find their biological families.
Included in this group is Jenny Thomas. Jenny has known she was adopted since she was 4 years old. Now 40, Jenny enlists the help of TLC. After 15 years of searching and yielding no results, Jenny is absolutely shocked when TLC helps her find her birth mother—a woman she has known professionally. “I was just in shock. I had looked in so many faces for so many years, [thinking] ‘Could that be her? Is she looking at me because she knows me?’ All the while I had looked at the woman who once knew me as her daughter. I didn’t expect that, not in a million years.”
Jenny is just one of sixteen stories that will be aired on Sunday. All sixteen of these are people seeking reunification—some are foster children, others are biological parents. The show will prove to be an emotional, tender acknowledgement that search and reunion can be joyful and fulfilling.
