I found out that I was pregnant, and my first instinct was adoption. I truly believe that babies should be celebrated–sadly, I wasn’t celebrating. With so many people dreaming about having a child, I couldn’t even consider keeping my baby. Oliver’s adoptive parents are everything I would like to be if I were going to raise a baby the way it should be.
My experience was unbelievable. I found the parents on Adoption.com Parent Profiles when I was four months along. I had a great connection from the first time we talked. Soon after, they came to visit and everything was set–I loved them. From then on out, I visited the parents once a month and talked a couple of times a week. When it came time to have Oliver, they were there for the whole show. I wouldn’t have had it any other way. They caught the baby and cut the cord. They even got to have their own room with him overnight.
I will keep in as close of contact as possible. It’s been three weeks since I gave birth to my son. I don’t regret any of the decisions I have made. They are exactly what my baby needs. I expect to have hard times, but all I have to think about is how perfectly my son will be raised and provided for.
There are so many families that want kids; the perfect family is out there for any one to find.
I love my son and my choice.
