After a public “falling out” with past Malawi President Joyce Banda, Madonna is welcomed back into the country with her two adopted children. Happy to bring her children to their birth place, Madonna visited the land with hopes of continuing charity work, according to The Telegraph. Traveling with her biological son, Rocco, as well as David and Mercy, who were adopted from Malawi, Madonna was welcomed by current President Peter Mutharika, who is grateful for her humanitarian work in the country.
Contact Music reports that President Mutharika spoke the feelings of the general public when he stated, “My government has always been grateful for the passion Madonna has for this country.”
Madonna’s charity, Raising Malawi, which was founded in 2006, focuses on providing nutritious food, proper clothing, secure shelter, formal education, targeted medical care and emotional care with psychosocial support for the people of Malawi.
