Forced to hand over her daughter to the Ministry of Children and Family Development , Sara Jane Weins has begun a lawsuit over the death of her child. The child was only 21 months old.
Declared an unfit mother because of a learning disability, Weins continued supervised visits with her daughter after she was placed in foster care. During those visits she became concerned when she found bruises on the baby. But no action was taken. Weins did not receive appropriate care to help her better parent, and she wants acknowledgement that both she and her baby daughter were failed by the Ministry of Children.
The coroner’s reports found broken bones and a bruised body upon examination of the child. This heartbreaking situation is being investigated. All involved want the truth to come forward.
