We Will Rise Nashville independent artists collaborated to create this beautiful song in 2012 for Foster Care Awareness Month. Most of the lyrics, though, were written by three foster youth. The kids hope to share, through this beautifully composed and presented song, that they are fighters – not victims.
All of the kids in this video have either been adopted through foster care, or are birth children of parents who also foster other children. The parents and children in this video have given permission to have this video made public.
There are over 400,000 children in foster care in the United States. We Will Rise Nashville wants that number to get smaller. It is hoped that through this song adults will be touched and feel the desire to provide loving homes for these children in need.
