My Advice for Mothers Considering Adoption – Panel Discussion

An Original Video | Unplanned Pregnancy Panel

Denalee Chapman January 07, 2016

Birth mothers are sometimes blindsided by their experience. Not knowing what to expect, pregnancy, decisions, and placement can be very difficult.

In this video, two birth mothers share their advice, which includes educating yourself (ask questions until you receive the answers you need), surrounding yourself with positive situations and people, and being open and honest with yourself and with others.

Be sure to avoid negativity and find people who will lift you and support you. Be prepared to grieve, even though you know you are making the right decision for you and your child, it will be hard. Allow yourself to feel all emotions and be gentle with yourself. Continue to respect yourself. Remember that healing will happen, but it will happen in its time.
