Colin Kaepernick may be a football superstar, but to his family, he is the son they hoped and prayed for. Adopted into the Kaepernick family at 1 ½ months old, Colin was taught that he could become whatever he hoped to be.
His mom was concerned and vigilant about helping Colin believe in himself. Of mixed race, Colin is dark and his family is white … but skin color didn’t matter to any member of that family. Colin was raised to love himself and to love others around him.
Naturally talented in many sports, Colin has always loved football the most. Against the odds, he pursued his dream. With his parents backing his decisions along the way, Colin’s tenacity paid off and he has met with the success he’s dreamed of.
