Bringing attention to all the people that help create adoptive families, the North Platte Telegraph covers the annual December Adoption Party. They point out that not only are the parents hoping to adopt and the child who joins the family involved in adoption, but also judges, caseworkers, and other professionals. Although National Adoption Day is in November, North Platte celebrates the next month, and they do it in style!
This year, the party was attended by hopeful adoptive families, recent adoptive families, and families who adopted long ago and are just excited to continue the celebration, and KNOP was on-hand to catch the highlights. Each year, between 30 and 40 children attend the party, along with volunteers who are knowledgeable about foster parenting and adoption to answer questions.
