Dylan is quite the snuggle bug! He is a very sweet and loveable boy. Although Dylan has some special medical needs, he is becoming more and more mobile, and is a fast mover. Dylan had surgery very recently to release the tendons in his foot and behind his knees, so he is able to walk flat-footed. He is a boy with several medical needs, who requires a lot of love and supervision. He works with many specialists, nurses, as well as physical and occupational therapists. Dylan is nonverbal, but is able to understand simple words and phrases. He enjoys playing with musical and light up toys. He is fed almost constantly through his G-tube. Dylan has several diagnoses including, Cerebral Palsy, gastroesophogeal reflux disease, Microcephaly, Osteopenia, Asthma,Seizure disorder among others. He can become upset when he is not getting what he wants, however is generally easily redirected, especially if someone picks him up and holds him. He enjoys playing tug-of-war with the foster family's dog.
Dylan will do best in a two parent home that is able to provide constant supervision and has some understanding of caring for a child with medical needs. He will benefit from having a sibling with whom to play. Dylan will do best in a home with a stay at home parent, due to his many doctor appointments and therapies. He requires several appointments with specialists and receives nursing hours to assist with his care.
