Aiden from Florida

Aiden is a 13-year-old male child. He is currently placed in an APD foster home due to his autism diagnosis. He is not placed with any of his siblings and a separated sibling staffing has been held and approved for the purposes of adoption for the child. He is doing well overall and is stable in his current placement. He attends West Pasco Academy. The GAL noted that he has made a lot of progress in his grades this past semester. The school works very hard to appropriately meet his educational needs. He is engaged in individual counseling and targeted case management through Carlton manor. He had previously been engaged in ABA therapy, but the therapist resigned. Case management is working to re-engage him in ABA services. He is up to date with medical and dental. He was previously matched with a prospective adoptive caregiver, Jenny, who is still his mentor but due to circumstances is unable to adopt. The department noted that adoption recruitment efforts have begun and Aiden is on family match and also was referred to Heart Gallery. He wants to have his photo on Heart Gallery. He is eager to be adopted and in a forever family.
