It was his profession as a police officer that first inspired Police Sergeant Will Smith to help children. He and his wife have 5 biological children, and they have been fantastic parents to them. But the love he and his wife have for children has led them to reach out to help those in need.
Besides adopting three more children, the couple has foster over 30 children through the years. Sgt. Smith knows that one family can’t change the world, but they can make a difference in the lives of people, one child at a time.
Regarding adoption, Sgt. Smith said, “Before I adopted, I thought ‘how could you feel the same,’” he said. “But then after we did, I mean I don’t look at any of them any different than the other.”
