Hoping to Adopt (Texas)

Why Adoption

After being unsuccessful in giving birth to children of my own, I started to consider other options in growing my family. I have an aunt who adopted a beautiful daughter through domestic infant adoption years ago, and have spent quite a bit of time talking with friends and coworkers who also grew their families through adoption. Seeing how complete their families became with the adoption of their children, and how much joy and happiness it brought to them made me even more excited about growing my family in this way. I have spent countless hours daydreaming of the day that I would become a mother and raise children of my own. Being a mother always felt like something that I was born to do and has been a desire that I feel is also part of my purpose. As I have grown older, I realize that my family has expanded through not just my biological relatives, but also through close friends that I have been blessed with. I will be forever grateful and elated for having the opportunity to expand my family even more and become a mother.

My Hobbies

I also love to work in my yard. It’s relaxing and rewarding to see the fruits of your labor as everything blooms and grows in spring and summer. I also enjoy attending live sporting events with others. I was never much of an athlete, but I do enjoy the competitive nature of sports and the fun that you experience when you are there in person, or watching it at home with a competitive group of friends or family. Walking in the park is relaxing and nature always makes me feel closer to God. I also enjoy family gatherings with my immediate and extended family. Our gatherings have a few things in common - a southern hospitality feel, lots of hugs and warm embraces, good food, lots of laughs, fun but competitive team games, dancing if music is involved, and memories to last a lifetime!

My Home

I built a home based on love and faith, and feel that my community embodies the core values that I live by. I am excitingly anticipating being able to decorate one of the bedrooms for my son or daughter. Interior design is one of my hobbies. I love to create beautiful and functional living spaces, and always have a new home project on my list. My sister lives in the same neighborhood, which makes it great for daily visits and for that quick run when you realize you ran out of eggs or milk while cooking breakfast. Living so close to my sister and friends has been a great support system while my niece was growing up and will be a great support system for my child as well. We live in a suburb outside of the city. It’s not a big city, but has a lot of opportunities. I chose to move to this area years ago because it is a quiet and family oriented community, and has a lot of new development with plenty of shopping, entertainment, and nature parks. It’s ranked in the top 5 safest cities to live in within Texas, and has one of the top rated school districts. My child will have the opportunity to participate in sports, music classes, arts and theatre, along with many more extracurricular activities. I am excited to raise my son or daughter in my home that was built with love, and in this community, which has so much to offer.
