What are the laws of the state? What is the time frame I can expect? What can I expect after finalization? Has the consent from both parents been received? Has the child been completely cleared for adoption? How has this been happening?
While considering answers to the questions, hopeful adoptive parents should be sure the answers are complete, that the agency and/or other professionals are ethical, and that there are no unanswered questions. In all cases, expect to be your own advocate and to be proactive in getting all questions answered.
