Korean adoptee, Ryan, loves his parents, but doesn’t feel connected to them. He has a close relationship with his siblings, but always wondered about his heritage and his early history.
As a child, he never really understood his Korean heritage. Ryan grew up in the mid-west and didn’t see any difference between himself and his friends. But, as happens with all children, he was teased. The teasing he received had to do with being Asian. This caused some pain that has lasted through the years.
Ryan felt like his parents didn’t give him enough in regards to his heritage. Hearing his story is good food-for-thought for parents who have adopted internationally.
