There is not enjoy joy in the world. So much turmoil and not enough love. That’s why it is so important to share heartwarming stories, such as this story of Tannah Butterfield. How would you respond if you received life-changing news?

Tannah is an 11-year-old student at American Heritage of South Jordan. She and her foster family have become good friends with the school’s office manager, Jackie Alexander.

That is why Tannah’s family, Jennifer and Jeff Fisher, called Jackie at school after a court meeting asking her to share with Tannah the wonderful news that they were going to be her forever family through adoption.

Tannah’s reaction is priceless. Tannah jumps into Jackie’s arms, hugs her so tight, and doesn’t let go for a long time. Tannah is beyond ecstatic. According to a local news station, Tannah stated, “My heart is so happy. It was like ‘Ah!’ It was like screaming”.

The school’s security camera caught the announcement and embrace on video, so Jackie decided to share the video. And it went viral. Jackie stated, “I just needed to let people know there’s a lot going on in the world and there’s a lot of sadness that we see, but you know what? There’s joy that happens every day”.

Two people that the video meant the most to was Tannah’s parents, Jenna and Jeff. Tannah described them as very loving and caring. They knew Tannah would want to know about the adoption as soon as possible, so they asked Jackie to tell Tannah as soon as she could.

When Jenna and Jeff saw the video, they were touched, because it showed Tannah’s overwhelming excitement. To them, that was assurance that they are doing something right in parenting and doing the right thing with the adoption of Tannah and two of her siblings. “We just feel like we’re ordinary people that are taking care of three children that we love and we want to be part of our family” Jenna told the Daily Mail.

It doesn’t take a lot of money, a huge house, or a high paying job. All it takes is to love a child unconditionally and you can change the world.
