Accepting donations now through April 26, 2015, Sleep Train Foster Kids believes “all children should have the freedom to run, jump, and walk with confidence.” The organization holds an annual shoe drive, inviting individuals and organizations to sacrifice a little to give a lot to children in foster care. Many foster children leave their homes with nothing but what they are wearing. Too often, they are not supplied with comfortable, attractive, durable footwear. Sleep Train is working to end the shoe shortage among foster children.
Believing that they can do more every year, Sleep Train hopes to collect 25,000 pairs of shoes this year. With this lofty goal, the organization hopes people will reach out and contribute by sharing this opportunity to participate. Monetary donations are accepted at SleepTrainFosterKids.org, or shoes may be donated to your local Sleep Train. Additionally, those wishing to help on a larger scale are invited to host a local drive, collecting shoes and donating them to Sleep Train.
