The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption shares the experiences of these youth who have lived in foster care. Thinking they would live their lives identified as foster children, these kids are amazed and grateful for the lives they’ve been given through adoption. Afraid of what life might throw at them, these youth have had to overcome much as they’ve navigated their journeys of foster care and adoption. The thought of aging out of the system is daunting, but a prospect that many foster children accept at a young age. Yet there is the hope of adoption. Trust must be developed and hope kindled.
