Seeing foster care as an important opportunity to move forward with a new challenge as a couple, and as a way to help where needed, the McKenzies began foster parenting in 2011. Sadly, Dawn McKenzie was killed — stabbed to death — by their foster child.
Their former foster child is finally going to trial. In the midst of this terrible tragedy, Dawn’s husband, Bryan, spoke out on the loving, kind, caring person Dawn was. He shared her compassionate desire to reach out and help others.
