Yves met his forever family at an adoption recruitment event. He was just one week shy of turning 18. It’s hard to imagine the joy Yves and his family felt when they matched with each other. Once Yves was adopted, he learned he was a sportsman. His family gave him the opportunity to explore his talents and abilities. The gift of family is the greatest gift Yves has been given—and he sees it as a miracle. “Adopting a teenager—you’re actually giving them a chance at life,” said Yves of his experience. He never imagined it would be possible for him to have a family. And yet he does have a family. “Kids in foster care go through a lot of situations,” says Yves. “If you judge them, you’re going to miss out on a great kid.”
