Not long after adopting as a single woman, Michelle Pfeiffer married successful writer/producer David Kelley. Kelley later adopted their daughter, Claudia Rose. Michelle is outspoken about her love for her children. “I was shocked at the prejudice, voiced in some quarters, of my decision to adopt a mixed-race baby. It’s really surprising that people still put so much emphasis on it. None of us are pure anything. We’re all a mixture,” she stated.
When her son with actor Dennis Quaid turned 15, Meg Ryan turned to adoption for her second child. In 2006 Meg was notified that her daughter in China was ready to come home. Although Daisy was assigned to her through a “lottery,” her mom believes there was nothing random about it. “She is the daughter I should have . . . We are so compatible. And also having the experience of having had Jack and now to have Daisy in a different way---there’s no difference in the love you feel,” Meg told People Magazine.
