UK: Children in residential treatment can receive specialized foster placement thanks to The Bridges Social Impact Bond. For the first time, funding is available for children in residential care to be placed into specialized foster care homes. Children in residential care will be placed with foster families that have received specialized training called “multi-dimensional treatment foster care” (MTFC). This training will aid in building the support needed to overcome the complex issues facing these children and their families.
A program like this has been successful in other areas. Participation in the 3-5 month program has increased employment/training in its participants by 96%. There has also been a 90% reduction in legal offenses and drug use.
This program reduces the cost of state care and improves the lives of its young people and families through this specialized foster placement program.
