Married just a couple of months ago, George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin have announced that they are hoping to adopt an orphan from a war-torn country. This comes as no surprise since both are well known for their humanitarian efforts. Amal, a human rights advocate lawyer, has spent her career fighting for human rights globally. The International Business Times reports that George has watched his friends, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, find great joy in parenthood and wishes the same for himself.
It is rumored that the Jolie-Pitt family is considering adoption again. This would mean that after 3 adopted children, and 3 biological, they would become a 9-person family. According to International Business Times, the couple hopes to bring into their family another child of African heritage.
Other celebrities who have adopted include Hugh Jackman, Meg Ryan, Sheryl Crow, Jamie Lee Curtis, Diane Keaton, and Sharon Stone.
