Julyan is a great child who deserves a wonderful family. He is typically a very happy child. He is an active, energetic, and curious boy. He is also very intuitive. Julyan is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. He has great listening skills and the ability to comprehend simple tasks. Although he is non-verbal, he knows sign language and will benefit from a family who also knows sign language. He will also repeat things he hears. Julyan likes to touch different textures in the books he reads. He is able to identify animals when animal sounds are made. He likes to hear people sing songs to him, especially if he is familiar with the song. He also enjoys watching himself in the mirror and playing on an IPod. One of Julyan's favorite activities is climbing on the playground. He loves to be outdoors where he can run and play. He loves swinging and sliding on the playground. He also loves watching Sponge Bob, Blue's Clues, and Veggie Tales on TV. He is drawn to stripes and the color green. Julyan is an affectionate child. He requires assistance with some daily living activities, but he is able to bathe and dress himself with assistance.
Julyan needs a family who is experienced working with children with Autism. His family will devote lots of one-on-one time with him. He will do best in a family with a lot of patience and compassion. Julyan needs a family who will set clear and consistent boundaries and offer positive reinforcement. His family will need to provide long term care for him through adulthood. He will need a family who will advocate for him in the educational community as well as throughout his life.
