Aria

from Texas

Meet Aria! She enjoys tummy time and playing with loud and interactive toys and books. Aria is developing character and she smiles and laughs easily. She will let you know if she likes something or not by using body movements. Aria enjoys watching Elmo and listening to Lullaby's. She tends to calm down easily when lullabies are played. Aria also enjoys being rocked, patted, and being in her swing. She is a medically fragile child who is G-tube and bipap dependent. Aria has Cornelia De Lange syndrome (CDLS) and Coffin-Siris syndrome. She is non-verbal with a current ability to make sounds. As her voice box gets stronger, there is a potential for her to talk. Aria does have limited hearing and does wear hearing aids.

Aria will do best in a two-parent household due to the level of supervision and care she needs. Aria will benefit from caregivers who are knowledgeable about Cornelia De Lange Syndrom and G-tube care. Her family will need to be patient as Aria is non verbal and at this time, only has the ability to make sounds and body movements to express her wants and needs. Caregivers will be proactive, understanding, and flexible. Aria will acclimate better to a structured home. Aria will need caregivers whom have experience with children who have high medical needs as well G-tube knowledge. A two-parent household would be best as Aria requires overnight hospital stays from time to time.
