Mike talks about his life being married to a birth mom. He recognizes that placing her child for adoption was a completely unselfish act by his wife. Emily is able to have a semi-open adoption and through letters and pictures is able see her child grow and progress in life. Mike loves knowing that his wife put her birth child ahead of her own desires. It speaks volumes as to who she is as a person, and he felt confident marrying her , knowing that she would always put others first. Now with a family of their own, Emily and Mike are happily married and active in the adoption and birth parent communities.
