LAURENT from European Union
Little Laurent was born very prematurely at 29 weeks gestation in October 2017. He has been diagnosed with hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy, multicystic encephalopathy, nonobstructive internal and external hydrocephalus (no shunt), epilepsy which is medication-resistant and causes frequent daily seizures, cavernous hemangioma, umbilical hernia, and specific developmental disorder of motor function. Laurent is largely immobile and depends completely on the care of others. He does not eat well. A calm child, Laurent reacts to some auditory, visual and tactile stimuli, but is generally passive. This fragile little boy resides at one of the biggest and most notorious orphanages in his country and desperately needs a family that will offer him the love, safety, and comforts of home.
