Destonee is an eccentric young lady with a wide range of hobbies and interests. She is very creative and enjoys spending time with animals, particularly horses. She loves to snuggle down to watch a movie or read. She loves anime, vampires, and lots of other fiction. She is capable of making straight A's in school. Destonee devotes a great deal of time learning about all types of animals and hopes that her new family will be animal lovers as well. While she is typically a very happy child, at times sadness can get her down. Destonee has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, without intellectual impairment. She is eager for a family who will support her through her challenges, but especially dreams of having a family who is just as excited to make new and happy memories with her.

Destonee's forever family will be patient and structured. Her family will show her what unconditional love and trust means. Destonee's forever family will be able to see the fierce love she is capable of beyond the armor she has built. Destonee will do really well in a family with animals or in a home that is in a rural area so that she can explore. She is capable of doing well with other children but engages in power struggles so it would be best for her to be the youngest or only child.
