Adian from Virginia

Adian is a bright young man. He excels academically and has a knack for engineering. Adian also enjoys music and basketball. He swims daily in his current placement, and he enjoys it every single day. Adian is naturally gifted at gymnastics skills, and he would like to improve this skill with formal classes. Adian thinks about the future often. He loves electric cars, but not just because they’re cool, he shares that it is because he cares about the Earth too. He would also like to be an entrepreneur. Currently, his vocational interest is hair styling. He is committed to his craft and practices on dolls and himself. He can cornrow his whole head! Adian plans to open a salon to merge his two interests. Adian is an explorer and down for a good time or trying almost anything new. He went to the beach for the first time in May 2023 and was shocked to learn that Europe was on the other side of the open water. He is a natural explorer and learner. He is interested in and absorbs facts. Adian has done well in his treatment, is thriving and feels ready to leave his treatment facility and live with a family. He has two adult siblings, who are very important to him and his well-being. While they cannot be his caretaker, they are a valuable part of his team. Adian has expressed that he 'feels better' and that he 'is better'. Adian will thrive with continued access to community-based supports and extracurricular activities. In our effort to limit the digital footprint of our children and youth, Virginia has elected to only provide photos to inquiring families. (A digital footprint could be described as a trail left behind when someone uses the internet (e.g. websites visited, social media accounts, photos, etc.). The state wants to be cautious as to who can see and potentially have access to youth’s info.
