UPDATED POST: A Toddler Birthday Celebration! If you haven’t hosted one, you’ve been to one. Maybe it was water themed – slides, balloons, squirt guns, sprinkler. Or maybe there was pin-the-tail on the donkey and a pinata. Surely it had juice boxes, snacks, cake, and maybe popsicles were aplenty. Crafts and games were enjoyed while the air was filled with shrieks of joy and laughter. Maybe it was a pirate party, and the birthday boy wore a headscarf and had a toy parrot on his shoulder, or maybe it was a princess party and the birthday girl got to wear a crown! Whatever the theme, it is safe to say the one being celebrated felt on top of the world!! Friends went home with an exciting party favor, and the birthday boy fell asleep that night with a full heart and belly. Jonathan’s 4th birthday is this week. He may enjoy a cake, and maybe sing some songs with the other children, or the day may sneak past unnoticed. Jonathan deserves to experience what it feels like to be The Birthday Boy. He deserves a party filled with his favorite things – cars, balls, spinning and light-up toys, and so much more! With your help, we can vow to make sure that Jonathan’s next birthday, his 5th, will be spent in the throes of a quintessential child’s birthday party surrounded by the love of a forever family. If you think you might be Jonathan’s future parents, please contact us at Superkids@gladney.org to review his profile! Jonathan is almost 4 years old, and we had the absolute pleasure of meeting him on our last visit to Taiwan. He is an active toddler who loves cars, balls, steering wheels, and toys that make sound and light up. He also adores toys that spin! While Jonathan is interested in meeting new people, he still maintains caution and will distinguish between familiar and unfamiliar people and surroundings. At this time, Jonathan prefers to play on his own, but will occasionally engage with peers when a friend is playing with a toy that Jonathan wants. Jonathan attends school regularly, and positively interacts with his teachers. He follows instructions and participates in activities. Jonathan has made significant progress over the past eight months, with increased verbal expressions and connection with others. While he does primarily use non-word vocalizations to express himself, more recently he has correctly pronounced several words. Jonathan can accurately identify objects, and follow direction such as ‘go get your school bag.’ Jonathan has made great progress over the past year, and we know his progress would be even stronger with the love and support of a forever family! If you think you might be Jonathan’s future parents, please contact us at Superkids@gladney.org to review his profile!
