Hunter from Texas
Hunter is a charming, imaginative, and respectful child who loves the outdoors and being active. He likes to go fishing and bowling, play kickball, and jump on the trampoline. He enjoys helping his foster parents and teachers, and he thrives on their praise and validation of his efforts. He is a self-described "hard worker," who wants to please and be accepted. When playing alone, his favorite toys are his dinosaurs and Legos. His favorite foods are spaghetti, pizza, and chicken. He does well academically, but often requires help to stay focused. Hunter meets people and makes friends easily but has difficulty interacting when he is upset, overwhelmed, or not the center of attention. He works hard on controlling his emotions and he can usually be re-directed when frustrated. He likes to attend church activities and tends to gravitate toward older children who he can look up to. Hunter loves the animals (chickens, goats, pigs, horses, peacocks) at his current home and enjoys feeding them and helping care for them. His most frequent "I wish" statement is to live on a big farm.
Hunter's forever family will provide unconditional love and have the time and willingness to devote to instilling confidence in him and providing supervision with clear expectations and appropriate consequences. Hs forever family will spend a lot of one-on-one time with him and must be able to access needed support services. He responds best to a safe, stable, predictable, and structured environment. Hunter is very bonded with his current foster family and will require strong emotional support to transition to his forever family. He will do well in a home with an older sibling who can serve as a role model.
